Those of you who know me (or have spend a Halloween or two with me) also know that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the 20's era. Like, I LOVE IT!!! Like I am pretty sure I lived my previous life during the 20's. So naturally, I have the clothes, the accessories and the wigs. In case one day I need to go back there (the 20's that is). And in case I (and several of my friends) need an emergency outfit for Halloween.

So to make the long story short - my friend Susan and I went to Boulder City a couple of weeks ago because someone told us that there is a train station there. There is a train station there, with moving trains and all but it was closed on Friday. Well that didn't stop us (some of us may have even jumped the fence in their dress and wig and all ). We kept changing outfits in the car and driving around Boulder City to find spots to take pictures (she btw is a photographer and took pictures of me and I took pictures of her). Surprisingly not too many people thought we were crazy. We did have the usual creeps come by the train station to see what we were doing and why we were dressed up. But even with that we had a BLAST. It was just so much fun. I had so many favorite pictures - it was hard to narrow it down.

I love lilac - I hadn't smelled it in forever and the other day I found it in Whole Foods and had to get some. I got this cool enamel pitcher from IKEA, which I also love. IKEA that is. Well and the pitcher. I guess I am in all kinds of loving mood today.

We spent a couple of days in Florence as well, mainly to see David of whom we were not allowed to take pictures. I was very impressed and very surprised that I was impressed with David. He really was a beautiful site (and not only because he was naked).

But I was able to take pictures of the Duomo. Do you like the colorful gipsy asking for money? I loved her skirt.

Ok, my favorite thing i saw at the Vatican was a mummy - I real one (i mean that's what they said on the little piece of paper by the display but who am I to question it). Everything was in its place - hair, nails, etc. Oh, except the eye through which they took the brain out during the mummification process.

The St. Peter Basilica was enormous - i don't think a picture does it justice, the dome, the interior, the columns - everything was magnificent and enormous.

The Pantheon was one of my favorite places i saw - we were just walking trying to find it and all of a sudden it was just THERE - it is huge! I also really liked its color - it looked like chocolate. I know - weird. Another thing i had to keep reminding myself is that these buildings are unbelievably old and they are still here - in great shape. I know they renovate them and stuff but still - almost two thousand freakin' years! I mean - two thousand!

The Big Turtle

So when i was at the Fifes to take pictures of Molly (Molly's Pics), we stepped outside for some outdoor shots. Then noticed a big decorative turtle at the end of the yard. Except as I was looking at it, it lifted one leg, then the other and headed for us. AAAAhhhhhhh! It was REAL. And huge, the hugest turtle i have ever seen. The Fifes have a REAL, huge turtle in their back yard who loves to eat veggies and lets the smaller kids ride it. SO COOL!!! I want one. I am curious to see how Mecho (our dog) would handle it. still haven't got it but I think it will be so cool. They told me they live to something like 120+.

Jackson Da Kine

Jackson is my new 4 and a half month nephew from Hawaii (jealouuuus!!!!). I know he doesn't look Hawaiian, but that's because his mom is from Canada. He was a pretty good model considering it was pretty chilly outside. On top of that we changed outfits :) I am practicing my pidgin so i can talk "mo'bettah" pidgin with him when he grows up (for an explanation of pidgin go here).

So my husband loves to cook and he is a great cook. He often surprises me (especially after a long day at work) with a nice, warm meal! I love him. On the weekends we get a bunch of groceries and cook all day so we have leftovers for the week.

Downtown Janelle

So my friend Janelle and I went downtown one Saturday to take some prego pictures of her and we ended up parking in a garage building that had one of those mechanical barriers that lift when you pull the ticket and then when you leave you have to pay your ticket to the machine and then the thing lifts up again so you can exit. However, on the way out the thing wouldn't open. And there was no attendant. And noone answered the phone when i called the customer service number. There was another car behind us and we just could not figure out how to open the stupid thing. I even thought of driving through the thing cuz my car is old and i already has a few dents but i wasn't sure how badly it could damage my car. Damon said good thing i didn't :). So that was when Janelle came up with the great idea to maybe walk to the other side and pull a ticket as if a car was going in and I will be ready to go under the raised thingy (going the opposite way since that side was working). Brilliant! Well, but the smart garage thingy people had thought about that too and no ticket was coming out because we assumed a car had to be there and even though Janelle was pregnant - could not fool the machine. She even jumped several times. But no. And the car behind us was still waiting. So Janelle came up with another smart idea. Since there was some room between the wall and the thing that raises, and the other people's car was smaller, she convinced the lady driver that she can "squeeze in". So while her car was on the other side, going the wrong was, and I was ready to go behind her, Janelle will pull a ticket and we both will be ready to just drive off in the couple seconds the thing was up. Guess what? IT WORKED!!!! it was a fun little adrenaline rushed photo shoot!

Herding Cats - The McGinns

This was a fun shoot that ended with Jason concluding that we need to wrap it up because "this is like herding cats". This is now my favorite expression and it comes to mind every time I take pictures of families with small kids. I love the McGinn kids - Caitlyn and Camryn were the flower girls at our wedding. So this shoot was a combination of Cooper taking off every 30 seconds or throwing rocks around, Camryn freaking out at anything that flew in the air fearing it may be a bee and Caitlyn just being tired of walking around while auntie Zlatsie (that's me) looked around for a picture location. I still think we did ok herding the cats :)

The Froehlichs

The Froehlichs were probably my first family shoot - and i'll tell you - it was hard work so i am glad they know me. Gavin was a great model, but Grayson was not going to have it. He wanted to do everything else (including stand next to me on the step stool I was climbing on to take over the head shots). So in most of the "family" pictures - it's a 4 member family - not 5. But we did get a few good shots of everyone. Morgan, the baby, was great, she was at a perfect age - she can't move around yet and i was able to take some great photos of her wonderful eyes.

I have been planning to start a photography blog but that is not moving as fast as I want so for the time being I will be posting pictures on this blog. Molly was a 2 week old baby, it was absolutely easy to shoot her since she slept all the time. We did have to stop 4 times for her mom to feed her and immediately after that to change her diaper. Her mom was a great sport and Molly even ended up in this green pot - she woke up and was not a big fan of it.

Damon and I stayed at Aria at the City Center when it opened - City Center is awesome - it's my new favorite place. Totally different than anything else we have here. My bro worked on the theater building and i am very proud of him.

So my friend Susan and I signed up for a cake decorating class. It was a crazy month at work but every Wednesday we went to class and it was super cool. I think we did pretty good. This was just level 1, we have a couple more to take. Susan and I decided that we are just destined to be women of many talents! Susan is also a photographer and we practice together whenever we can.

The Opera House - the buildings - new and old - have so much character and attitude

The was amazing - they are doing new construction of a hotel building but are using the existing facade of the building so the exterior walls of an existing building are braced to stay as the facade of the new building. so cool!

La Boqueria - the market was very close to our hotel and they had GREAT food. We had several meals there and had some of the best cafe con leche. I do love how the lady in the picture is smoking a cigarette and talking to the meat counter guy.... the place was just so alive....

I just kept taking pictures - everywhere you turn there was a cool view to be photographed.

In Park Guell - the park was kick butt. i just wish it wasn't 100 degrees while we walked around. Of course the next day it was nice and overcast when we decided to do the indoor museums.

So most everyone knows our water heater broke and we got flooded. Well, we had a little more damage than we thought so now we don't have a kitchen :( and we don't have hot water :(

Naposledak kakto se znae sam zaeta s razni planove po svatbi i podobni, che niamam mnogo drugi sabitia za razkazvane, no minalata sedmica beshe rojdenia den na Damon i izlizahme malko napred-nazad. Sashto beshe i BG velikden, che i nego otpraznuvahme.

Predi da zapochnem degustaciata ni pochepraha sas shampanski da zagreem :) Taka otpraznuvahme baba Marta i zapochnahme maratona v chest na Eli.

Hodihme s Damon v San Francisco za 30 RD na Eli i si prekarahme PREKRASNO. Beshe kaso patuvane, no beshe mnogo mnogo hubavo. Letiahme s Virgin America za parvi put - te sa nova kompania - kato Virgin Atlantic, no v Amerika :) Tam inache pochnahme da se cherpim oshte v chetvartak vecherta, v petak az i Damon obikolihme grada, iadohme strashna hrana navsiakade, vecherta izlizahme s Eli i Andy i idin priatel na Damon.... V sabota otidohme v dolinata Napa - tam e vinarski raion i pochnahme s parvata vinarna v 11 chasa sutrinta i privarshihme v 6-7 vecherta. Ostednahme v edno sladko mesto s malki kashtichki na golf igrishte.... na drugia den si bilzahme ranite :)

Me, Damon, Chris and Michelle having dinner at the condo after the first day of skiing. It was very nice - a nice day of skiing i mountains, spending 2 hours driving around to find the liqueur store in Park City (at one point we were convinced that we were the victims of a major conspiracy), and then making a nice dinner was a great way to finish the day :)

Dobre, moje li da sme tolkova gotini!!! Damon i az si napravihme godejni snimki s profesionalen fotograf minalata sedmica i oshte ne sam poluchila vsichki, no dnes dnes ne izdarjah u go nakarah da mi prati niakolko da vidia. Mnogo im se kefia :)

V nedelia se sabrahme da gledame shampinonata po amerikanski futbol u Damon. Estestveno imashe pak mnogo hrana i piene. Na Damon priatelat Chris e zaklet privarjenik na edinia otbor i prez 4te chasovia mach toi beshe mnogo mnogo nerven i pritesnen. Za negova (i nasha) radost - The Giants popediha. To beshe vikane, to beshe chudo. Chris si prisvoi shala na Jelko na Tottenham i reshi, che mu nosi kasmet i kaza, che niama da mu go varne, osobeno sled pobedata :) Jelko ne iskashe da se razdelia s novia si shal, no sled kato Chris si izbarsa salzite v nego niakolko puti, Jelko reshi, che ne go iska veche :)

Mujete obache prekaraha vecherta navan na studa. Sasedite i nie se sabrahme i napravihme barbeku pred kashtite - goliama ludnica do 5 chasa... No beshe strashno studeno...
